Homicide and gang detail investigators Monday were searching for a motive in a fatal shooting outside an apartment complex Sunday that left one man dead.
The shooting fatality was the fourth in the county over the weekend.
Police identified the slain man as Guadalupe Salas, 24, of Anaheim. No suspects were being held.
Officers received a report of a shooting at 1251 N. Placentia Ave. about 3:40 p.m. Sunday and found Salas in front of an apartment complex with a gunshot wound in his upper torso, according to Sgt. Steve Rodig. The victim was pronounced dead at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Rodig said Salas had apparently been quarreling with several people before the shooting.
The shooting took place during a weekend marked by violence in the county. Two men were slain and two others wounded in separate incidents in Santa Ana on Sunday, while police in Orange found an apparent homicide victim shot to death at a covered parking lot. Two other men were shot and wounded Saturday in unrelated incidents in Garden Grove.
