Carl’s Jr. Tests Green Burrito Food: Less than a year after a brutal boardroom fight over a dual-menu concept, the fast-food chain has agreed to test Green Burrito products at six locations and is negotiating to add Long John Silver’s fish meals to eight other outlets. The dual-menu strategy is an effort to carve new ground in the industry by giving families a wider choice. The strategy is essentially a smaller version of food courts that have been set up in shopping malls. Carl’s Jr. will add the test to its ongoing value menu concept, which promotes good food at lower prices but has not spurred sales as much as parent company CKE Restaurants Inc. had hoped.
