L’Equipe, the French sports daily newspaper, has taken an unusual and potentially fascinating approach in its World Cup coverage.
L’Equipe has a writer and photographer traveling by road from Soldier Field in Chicago, site of the opening game on June 17, to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, site of the championship final on July 17.
The duo are filing daily reports on the United States’ response to the World Cup from small-town America. Tuesday’s article, for example, was datelined Funk’s Grove, Ill.
