Kansas State quarterback Chad May, a transfer from Cal State Fullerton, has been arrested for driving under the influence in Manhattan, Kan.
May, 22, was arrested early Saturday after an officer observed him making an illegal turn, said Riley County Police Lt. Rodney Jager.
After the officer stopped the vehicle, he found probable cause for the DUI arrest.
May was released after posting $500 bond.
Coach Bill Snyder declined comment on the arrest.
As a junior last fall in his first season with the Wildcats, May set school records by passing for 2,682 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also set a Big Eight record by passing for 489 yards against Nebraska. He was named all-conference quarterback in a vote of Big Eight coaches.
May was Fullerton’s starting quarterback in 1991.
