An art display titled “Quilts in All Sizes” is being shown at the Cypress Community Gallery through July 8.
About 30 handmade quilts are on display.
“Each quilt is a piece of art,” said Nancy Bruns, recreation coordinator for the city. “No two quilts are alike. Sometimes themes are involved in a quilt pattern, such as a ‘friendship quilt.’ ”
Quilt-making involves use of patterns, themes and colors, all of which become distinctive art forms, Bruns said.
“Art comes in many forms,” she said. “Art doesn’t always have to be framed, such as a painting or watercolor.”
The gallery, at 5700 Orange Ave., is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
