OAK VIEW : Habitat for Humanity to Select Home Buyer
- Share via
Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County, a nonprofit organization that provides low-income housing, has scheduled a series of meetings for local families interested in purchasing a residence in Oak View.
The house, the second of two homes being built by Habitat volunteers on donated land in Oak View, will cost about $50,000 to construct, a spokeswoman said. The selected family will be able to purchase the home with an interest-free mortgage.
The family selection committee has planned several orientation meetings for interested families of five or more people living in the cities of Ventura, Ojai and Santa Paula, as well as the unincorporated areas of western Ventura County.
Meetings will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. June 27, 28 and 29 at the Oak View Christian Center, 195 Mahoney Road. Habitat hopes to choose a family by August, the spokeswoman said.
For information, call the selection committee chairman at 649-9159.
