Toll Road Temblor

* If Governor Wilson really wants to find the $200 million to finance “ . . . the state share of earthquake recovery costs” (“Defeat of Quake Relief Bonds Adds To Budget Crisis,” June 9), he need not look any further than the state’s budget for Orange County’s toll roads.
The state has committed $110 million for just the San Joaquin Hills toll road! If you add to this similar amounts for the Eastern and Foothill toll roads, the state will have more than enough money for the needed earthquake repairs.
In addition, Californians will be spared the humiliation of funding roads they will have to pay to use.
