WEST ADAMS : Minority Coaching Recruits Sought

The Amateur Athletic Foundation is recruiting aspiring coaches for its Minority Coach Leadership Program.

In the free summer program, young people are trained in coaching soccer and swimming. Soccer coaching will be offered in two five-day sessions, Monday through Friday and June 27 to July 1. Training for swim coaching comprises three weeks of intensive training beginning July 5.

The philosophy and psychology of coaching, nutrition for athletes, playing tactics and strategies, and injury prevention are some of the topics that will be covered.

Ethnic minorities and young women at least 15 years old are encouraged to apply.
