Wilson Names Jo Ellen Allen to State Bar Panel

CORONA DEL MAR — Jo Ellen Allen was appointed to the Board of Governors of the State Bar of California, Gov. Pete Wilson announced this week.
Allen, 47, is president of Eagle Forum, Phyllis Schlafly’s national group that supports traditional family values and principles of limited government.
In 1992, Allen ran unsuccessfully for Orange County’s 69th Assembly District seat.
The Board of Governors regulates the legal profession and works to improve the administration of justice in California. Although members do not receive a salary, the appointment does require state Senate confirmation.
Allen earned a bachelor of arts degree and a master’s degree in political science from Cal State Northridge.
Allen founded the California Coalition for Women Concerned and is a consultant to the National Council of Business Advisors, a White House advisory group.
