Weekend TV : Looking at Youths’ ‘Roots of Racism’

Actor Lou Gossett Jr. is the host of “Story of a People: The Roots of Racism,” which looks at race relations, Sunday at 10 a.m. on KNBC-TV Channel 4.
The program examines the age children become aware of racism, and looks at hate groups and the escalation of racial tensions on school campuses. Gossett will also talk with young people from different ethnic and social backgrounds.
In sports, ABC offers the third and final rounds of golf’s U.S. Open from Oakmont, Pa., today at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. on Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42.
And NBC will broadcast Game 6 of the NBA finals Sunday between the Houston Rockets and the New York Knicks at 4 p.m. on Channels 4, 36 and 39.
