A fire that ravaged one Ventura home and destroyed a motor home was brought under control before it could do significant damage to another residence, fire officials said Thursday.
The cause of the blaze at 60 James Drive is still under investigation.
When engines were called to the scene at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday, a garage, motor home and two houses were on fire, a fire spokesman said.
Firefighters put out the blaze at 64 James Drive, saving the structure.
The home at 60 James had about $150,000 in property loss and $75,000 in damage to contents, including the motor home, officials said.
The only injury was to a man who jumped in to help put out the blaze. Derick Henderson received slight flash burns on his shoulder, but was treated at the scene by firefighters, authorities said.
