Hits Magazine Tip of the Week
On the heels of Atlantic Records Group scoring a No. 1 chart debut with Stone Temple Pilots, a Business Week article about Atlantic Chairman and CEO Doug Morris has escalated music industry chatter on expanded duties for Morris within parent Warner Music Group. In the article, Warner Music Group Chairman Robert Morgado is quoted as saying, “Clearly Doug has the talent to play a wider role in the future.” Morris’ Atlantic Group, which includes the Atlantic and very successful Interscope labels, has had a torrid chart run with hot-selling soundtracks to “Above the Rim” and “The Crow,” as well as newcomers Collective Soul and All-4-One.
