LAGUNA NIGUEL : Children’s Birthday Party Service Offered

Parents who find putting on a child’s birthday party too much trouble don’t have to make their child go without birthday fun.
The city’s Parks and Recreation Department throws two-hour children’s birthday parties at Crown Valley Community Park, 29751 Crown Valley Parkway. For $175, recreation staff will set up birthday decorations, buy a birthday cake and punch, and present crafts and games for a child’s birthday party.
“All the parent has to do is show up and relax,” said Laguna Niguel recreation supervisor Sylvia Friedrichsen, who introduced the birthday parties a year and a half ago. “It makes it an enjoyable time for parents. Usually, it’s a big hassle.”
Friedrichsen said a variety of game packages are available for children ages 3-12. Games range from “pin the heart on the teddy bear” to tug-of-war. One recreation staff member is on hand for every 10 children.
All of the parties are held at the Crown Valley Community Park main recreation room.
