Permanent Wave

Thirty years ago my husband and I saw “Endless Summer” at the drive-in theater. We were not surfers, nor were we kids at the time, but we absolutely loved that movie (“If Everybody Had an Ocean . . . ,” by Kalle Matso and Scott White, May 29).
I’m now a grandmother, still don’t surf, but can’t wait to see “Endless Summer II.” It is the energy, power and possible danger of the waves, the glorious scenery and summer days and the dreams, perseverance and athleticism of the surfers that make these movies not just attractive to those who surf.
Yes, there is a non-surfer following for “Endless Summer II,” just as there was for “Endless Summer,” and I as one non-surfer will eagerly await seeing “Endless Summer III.”
