Teledyne Pares Marina del Rey Work Force: The diversified company said it laid off 73 people at its Teledyne Electronic Technologies unit, which makes microelectronics primarily for the Defense Department. The layoffs, covering all types of positions, represented 9% of the unit’s 782 workers and were blamed on reduced Pentagon contracts. Teledyne, based in Century City, makes a variety of aerospace, industrial and consumer goods.
