Nation IN BRIEF : VIRGINIA : Firm Wins Salvage Rights to Titanic

All salvage rights to the wreck of the Titanic have been awarded to a New York company by a federal judge, the company announced. The ruling grants all salvage rights to RMS Titanic Inc., the company that has organized two expeditions to the wreck. The ruling by a U.S. district judge in Norfolk, Va., confirmed that the company has rights to the 2,600 objects recovered from the ship as well as the remaining contents, cargo, hull, machinery and other items.
