LA PUENTE : City to Require Permits for New Liquor Outlets
- Share via
The La Puente City Council amended its municipal code to require new businesses wishing to sell packaged liquor to obtain an unclassified use permit from the city.
Currently, only a license from the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is required. The amendment will take effect June 23.
The measure will give the city more control over new alcoholic beverage outlets, City Planner Gregg Yamachika said. In deciding on permits, the city will consider the outlet’s impact on the surrounding area, how close it is to homes and the proposed hours of operation.
