At the 5th Annual Bouillabaisse Festival in Santa Barbara May 22, 750 fish-soup-eaters consumed 110 gallons of bouillabaisse, washed down with 45 cases of wine (108 gallons), meaning that they left, on the average, about 1.16 quarts higher than they came. The winners (all restaurants) were Wheeler Hot Springs (classic division), Cold Spring Tavern (open division) and Remington’s at Los Olivos Grand Hotel (cioppino style). The event raised more than $8,000 for Children’s Services at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
