Police: Getting a Response in Torrance
I have lived in Torrance for 16 of my 20 years in the South Bay. I am also African American.
I was not surprised to read that the Torrance Police felt “there was nothing they could do” about the racial harassment inflicted on a black family.
I have a suggestion for the family that has proven to be an attention-getter of the Torrance Police: The next time they are harassed they should tell the police that they are white and their attacker is black.
I have personally known that device to bring out no fewer than half a dozen patrol cars with white officers, guns in hand.
