U.S., France to Tackle Movie Feud: The governments of the two nations have agreed to take a new stab at resolving their bitter dispute over film distribution and royalties in France, U.S. Trade Representative Mickey Kantor said at the annual meeting of the Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The two countries also agreed to address common concerns about access to Japan, considered the main transgressor when it comes to trade. Discussion groups from Paris and Washington also planned to hash over the contentious new link between trade policy and workers’ rights--a high priority of both nations. Kantor said he struck the three-part agenda agreement Monday night with his French counterpart, Gerard Longuet.
