VENTURA : Driver Arrested on Theft, Drug Charges

A United Parcel Service driver has been arrested on suspicion of stealing packages he was supposed to deliver for customers, authorities said.
Mark Eric Stuart, 28, of Ventura was arrested Friday by Ventura Police Department investigators on suspicion of grand theft, possession of drugs and being under the influence of drugs, a police spokesman said.
Stuart was arrested after he finished his shift Friday. Details were not available on the value of the packages and the number of thefts he is alleged to have committed.
Stuart remained in custody Sunday at the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Ventura County Municipal Court.
