SAN DIEGO--Textile design celebrating “Earth’s Magical Kingdom” is showcased at the 14th annual Fabric Fantasies Festival, June 10-11. The juried fabric festival is 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. both days in Bazaar del Mundo, Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Featured: a marketplace of fabrics, trims, beads and books; art-to-wear fashion shows at 12:30 p.m. both days, and a talk by designer Laurel Burch at 3 p.m. Friday. Free. (619) 296-3161.
AVALON--Get a taste of life before “talkies” at the annual Silent Film Benefit, June 11, in the Avalon Theatre. The 1925 silent classic “Phantom of the Opera” is screened at 2 p.m., with accompaniment by master organist Gaylord Carter. A reception follows. $7, general. Tickets are limited. SANTA ROSA--The 16th annual Health and Harmony Music and Arts Festival ’94 is 10 a.m.-7 p.m. June 11-12 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Highlights include the Health and Environmental Exposition; concerts by Charlie Musselwhite, Jefferson Starship, Sukay and others, and kids’ activities at the Rainbow Center for Children. $7, general; $5, seniors; $4, kids 6-12; free for kids under 6. ISLETON--Louisiana-style revelry awaits at the Great Isleton Crawdad Festival, June 17-19 along Main Street.
