For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:

* Use wire cylinders to keep tomato plants off the ground, prevent rot, improve fruit set and ease harvest.

* Soaker hoses and drip irrigation systems are both excellent additions to your garden. Both help cut back on water usage.
