Undercover narcotics detectives seized about $20,000 worth of heroin and cocaine and arrested two Oxnard residents for allegedly selling drugs at a shopping center in Oxnard, authorities said Friday.
Arturo Fernandez Ochoa, 23, was being held on $50,000 bail at Ventura County Jail Friday on suspicion of several drug violations. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
A 17-year-old youth was also arrested and is being held at Juvenile Hall pending a court hearing. His identity was withheld because of his age.
Authorities said undercover deputies with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and Oxnard police officers arrested the pair about 11:30 a.m. Thursday in a shopping center at Pleasant Valley Road and Rose Avenue.
Narcotics detectives had purchased drugs from the pair several times in a month, authorities said.
After investigators arrested the two, they also searched Ochoa’s house in the 4800 block of Olds Road and found cocaine, heroin and $2,800 in cash, authorities said.
