SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Residential Patrol Services Available
- Share via
Residents leaving on vacation this summer can have their homes regularly checked by contacting the city Police Services Department.
The police use the city’s senior citizen volunteer group who patrol neighborhoods during the summer to make sure homes aren’t disturbed while their owners are away.
Uniformed members of the Associated Senior Action Program check ground floor windows and doors and immediately report suspicious circumstances to sheriff’s deputies.
Residents who want their home looked after must contact the city at least one week before the vacation.
The following information is needed:
* The dates that patrol services are required, as well as the address and cross street of the home.
* The address and phone number of someone to contact in case of an emergency.
* A list of when gardeners or cleaners arrive at the home, the name of anyone else with access to the home and descriptions of vehicles that will be left in the driveway.
For information about the vacation home security checks, contact the city police services department at (714) 443-6369.
