Japan’s Current Account Surplus Rises Again: Japan’s April current account balance, the measure of the flow of goods and services in and out of the country, rose 22.6% from a year earlier to a surplus of $13.977 billion, the Ministry of Finance said. The number was higher than economists had expected. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg Business News predicted April’s current account surplus would be $12.3 billion.
