Team ASICS/Paul Mitchell of Huntington Beach won three matches at the U.S. Volleyball Assn. national club championships in Tulsa, Okla., to advance to the winners’ bracket final. The team beat Black Sheep of Kansas City, Mo., 15-9, 13-15, 15-10, Team ASICS East of Boston, 15-11, 12-15, 15-9, and Reston of Washington, D.C., 15-4, 9-15, 15-13 to advance. Mark Presho, formerly of Edison, had 63 kills and Alan Knipe, formerly of Marina, had 58 kills. The team will play Power/I Dig of Pennsylvania today with the winner advancing to the title match Saturday.
