HMOs Rated by Panel: A nonprofit group that rates the quality of health maintenance organizations said that only 34 of 156 plans received its highest marks, and three were denied accreditation. National Committee for Quality Assurance. Among HMOs that received the highest accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance were FHP Inc. of Cerritos; the Harvard Community Health Plan in Massachusetts; PruCare of Jacksonville, Fla.; U.S. Healthcare of Burlington, Mass.; Blue Choice of Rochester, N.Y., and Mercy Health Plan of Philadelphia.
