Jennifer Gould
SCHOOL: El Camino Real
SPORT: Softball
YEAR: Senior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: After battling a back injury as a sophomore and arm problems as a junior, Gould was healthy this year and it showed. She posted a 20-4 record with an earned-run-average of 0.21. In 164 innings, she allowed five earned runs, struck out 175 and walked 21.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Gould, who will attend Princeton on an academic scholarship, pitched a three-hitter, struck out five and walked three as El Camino Real defeated two-time defending champion San Pedro, 4-0, in the City Section 4-A Division championship game. The victory gave the Conquistadores their first title since 1991 and seventh in the past 10 years. “She pitched very well all year and she was exceptional in the playoffs,” El Camino Real Coach Neils Ludlow said. “When she’s healthy, she’s very good. And fortunately for us, she was healthy this year.”
