CAMARILLO — Region record-holders Jeremy Fischer of Camarillo High and Dolores Tuimoloau of Channel Islands top the list of competitors in the Ventura County track and field championships at Camarillo today.
Fischer, who raised his region record to 7 feet 4 inches in the high jump at last month’s Santa Barbara Easter Relays, is shooting for his third consecutive meet title in that event and will be gunning for his second long jump victory in three years.
Tuimoloau, the defending meet champion in the discus, has been on a tear in the shotput this year. She opened the season with a personal best of 45-6 at the Spartan Relays on March 5 and has bettered that mark several times to reach 48-10.
Sprinter Ramsey Jay of Ventura, distance runner Jeff Fischer of Thousand Oaks, weight-event performer Damon Blechen of Agoura and hurdler Andrea Wasden of Rio Mesa also are entered.
