The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza endowment fund picked up a $50,000 donation Tuesday, boosting the campaign to $3.89 million.
George and Maureen Jones of Westlake Village became the newest members of the Founders Circle, a club of major donors with special ticket privileges.
“It is wonderful to be part of the cultural development of our community, and we are very pleased that such a unique opportunity is available to us,” said George Jones, senior vice president of Prudential Securities in Westlake Village.
Corporate and individual donations have picked up now that the grand opening is six months away. Funds will be used to support the ongoing operation, events and programming of the Center for the Performing Arts.
“Support for this project is just overwhelming,” civic arts spokeswoman Evy Wiborg said. “Everybody is really excited about it.”
