In another blow to the postseason hopes of the Cal State Northridge baseball team, shortstop Chad Thornhill might be out indefinitely due to an elbow injury.
Thornhill, a junior transfer from Fresno City College, was injured in a collision near first base in Sunday’s 14-6 loss to Cal State Sacramento. Preliminary examinations indicated that Thornhill suffered a fractured bone in his right elbow, a school official said Monday.
Thornhill has ranked among team offensive leaders all season. He is batting .278 with 26 runs batted in.
