Titans’ Wagner Wins 10th in Row

Matt Wagner, a sophomore right-hander, won his 10th consecutive game as Cal State Fullerton beat Pacific, 4-1, in a Big West Conference baseball game Sunday in Stockton.
Wagner (10-0) gave up seven hits, an unearned run, and struck out four in 6 2/3 innings. Ted Silva gave up a hit and no runs in the final 2 1/3 innings for his 10th save.
Jeff Ferguson hit a two-run homer in the third to give the Titans (34-8, 11-3) a 3-1 lead. Dante Powell had a single and stole second before Ferguson’s fifth home run. It was Powell’s 33rd stolen base.
Ferguson scored Fullerton’s final run on a wild pitch in the eighth. Brian King had an RBI single in the second for Fullerton.
It was the third consecutive loss for Pacific (30-13, 4-7).
