MOYERS: THE STORY AND THE PHOTOGRAPH

Thanks for publishing the article on Bill Moyers (“Bill Moyers Acts Up,” by Marshall Blonsky, March 27). What’s the matter with me that I’ve enjoyed his books and tapes so much? And constantly pondered his interviews? And felt my life so broadened and enriched by his work?

Why didn’t you print such an article years ago and spare me all of the above?

I can’t believe that you allowed Moyers to be photographed in such a grotesque way. Imagine, forcing us to look up his nose and at his double chin, with his hair looking like a metal helmet surrounded by ghoulish silhouettes. On many occasions over the past five years, the magazine’s photography has upset me, but this time you have gone too far.
