Laguna Niguel Surfers Advance at Pismo Beach

Pat O’Connell and Vince De La Pena of Laguna Niguel advanced to today’s quarterfinals of the $23,600 Bud Surf Tour event Saturday at Pismo Beach.
De La Pena finished first in his third-round heat, and O’Connell finished second.
Jeff Deffenbaugh and Jay Larson of Huntington Beach, Jason Senn, Mike Parsons and Dino Andino of San Clemente, Tim Reardon of Dana Point and Shane Stoneman of San Juan Capistrano were eliminated in the third round.
