After committing three errors and losing the opener, 2-1, Cal State Northridge responded with 13 hits in the second game to beat Utah, 7-0, and earn a split in a Western Athletic Conference softball doubleheader Friday in Salt Lake City.
The split leaves the teams deadlocked in second place at 11-3 in WAC play, two games behind Fresno State.

In the second game, Northridge (36-7) was paced by three-for-four performances by Beth Calcante and Jennifer Parker. Jones went two for two with two runs batted in on sacrifice flies.
