LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE : Spence, Liu to Tackle New Duties on Council

The City Council elected Councilman David A. Spence the mayor of La Canada Flintridge on Tuesday.
Carol Liu, the city’s first Asian American council member, was chosen as mayor pro tem.
The mayor’s job is largely ceremonial and changes annually. The mayor pro tem usually becomes mayor the following year. Spence, who was mayor pro tem, has been on the council for three years.
