MOGADISHU, Somalia — Two U.N. peacekeepers and a refugee official were killed Monday in ethnic fighting in Somalia.
The two Nepalese U.N. soldiers were killed in cross-fire between clan militias in Mogadishu, U.N. spokesman Maj. Chris Budge said. The refugee official, a Gambian, was shot by militiamen as his plane touched down in the southern town of Afmadu.
The United Nations reported, meanwhile, that $3.9 million had been stolen from the headquarters of its operation in Mogadishu.
