Oxnard police arrested a 60-year-old Oxnard man on drug charges and five alleged accomplices after completing a six-month investigation of a large cocaine trafficking organization, authorities said Monday.
Raymond Lopez was arrested in South Gate on Saturday afternoon after he tried to sell a kilogram of cocaine to undercover detectives, police said.
During the investigation, search warrants were served at Lopez’s house on J Street, as well as on houses in the cities of South Gate and Bellflower. Investigators said they found $438,000 in cash at a Bellflower residence, and seized three vehicles, six handguns, three assault rifles and a sawed-off shotgun.
The other suspected drug traffickers arrested were Marino Cavada, 47, and Ives Enciso-Arellano, 25, both of South Gate; Hector Cabrerra, 39, of Los Angeles, and Jesus Padilla, 39, and Nohemi Zazueta, 25, both of Mexico.
All were being held at Los Angeles County Jail, police said.
