Nancy, meet Barbie.
Dolls resembling Olympic silver medalist Nancy Kerrigan will appear on toy stores’ shelves this fall, El Segundo-based Mattel Inc. announced this week.
Mattel, best known for Barbie dolls, plans a line of fashion dolls using Miss Kerrigan’s likeness.
The first will wear a replica of the gold costume she wore during her long program performance in the Winter Olympics at Lillehammer, Norway.
“We think that she is a very positive role model for young girls,” Mattel President Jill Barad said.
