IRVINE : Plan to Develop Park at Site to Be Discussed
- Share via
Plans to develop a 48-acre park near City Hall will be discussed during a joint meeting of the City Council and Community Services Commission tonight.
Residents who live in the nearby Westpark village have long suggested that vacant land on Harvard Avenue be converted into a recreation area.
A plan calling for the development of athletics fields, green spaces and walkways will be unveiled at tonight’s meeting. The plan was drawn up after architects held a community meeting to hear residents’ ideas.
Under the plan, the park would be connected by walk paths to the Civic Center and nearby child-care center.
