A 35-year-old Anaheim woman was killed Monday while she was running in and out of traffic on the Garden Grove Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
Just after 4 p.m., Gail Roysdon of Buena Park was reported running in the westbound lanes of the freeway at Hoover Street, CHP Officer Joan Rivas said.
The CHP ran a traffic break on the westbound lanes to allow her to get to the shoulder from the center divider, where she was standing.
Roysdon, shouting incoherently, ran toward a parked CHP patrol car, Rivas said.
She then ran back to the center divider, climbed over and dashed into the eastbound lanes, near the intersection with Beach Boulevard, and was struck by a pickup truck, Rivas said.
Paramedics treated her, but she died at the scene.
