ANAHEIM : Santa Ana Man Dies in Freeway Crash

A Santa Ana man was killed Monday morning when his van skidded out of control on the Santa Ana Freeway, sliding across three lanes of traffic and crashing into a tree, the California Highway Patrol said.
Salvador Barajas, 51, died in the 6:30 a.m. crash just north of Lincoln Avenue on the northbound freeway, CHP spokeswoman Joan Rivas said.
She said it was not known why Barajas lost control of his van.
No one else was injured, Rivas said. Barajas had no passengers, and his van did not hit any other cars as it slid from the far left lane onto the shoulder, where it slammed into a tree on the embankment, Rivas said.
One lane of the freeway was closed for about two hours while the CHP investigated the accident, Rivas said.
