Amwest Insurance Reports 29% Rise in Premiums

Amwest Insurance Group Inc., a Woodland Hills insurance holding company specializing in surety bonds that guarantee completion of a contract, said the amount of premiums it wrote rose by 29% in the first quarter.
The company said it wrote $15.2 million in premiums in the three months ended March 31, compared to $11.8 million in premiums written a year earlier.
