TRW Gets Satellite Contract: TRW Inc. has won a $61.14-million contract to help build Taiwan’s first satellite. Taiwan’s National Science Council chose Cleveland-based TRW over Matra Marconi of France, Space System-Loral of the United States and Israel’s IAI and France’s Dornier, officials said. TRW will develop the spacecraft for the scientific research satellite in time for launching in 1997 and will oversee the integration of payload packages and components designed by Taiwanese firms.
