Parolee Sought in Fatal Beating of Wife

Sheriff’s detectives were searching Friday for a parolee suspected of beating his wife to death in their Lakewood apartment.
The suspect, Neal Arvelt, 31, “generally frequents the Long Beach area and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous,” Deputy Bill Martin said.
A friend of the family found the woman’s body Friday morning at the couple’s apartment in the 11700 block of East 215th Street, Martin said.
