Course Maker Bought: National Education Corp. said Monday that it has paid about $4 million for MicroMash, a Denver-based maker of computer courses on accounting. Jerome W. Cwiertnia, National Education’s president and chief executive officer, said the MicroMash acquisition positions his company in the continuing professional education arena. With 50 employees, MicroMash offers more than 60 courses of study in accounting, including candidate preparation for various examinations, such as the Certified Public Accountant examination. National Education Corp. in Irvine provides multimedia educational training products in engineering, business, technology and other areas. The company, with 3,800 employees, lost $9.6 million in fiscal 1993 on sales of $355 million.
