For over forty years, I have been traveling all over the globe, both lecturing and advising professionals.
In the early days, there was little attention paid to burnout, fatigue and stresses of frequent changes of planes and lodgings. But with time, it became obvious that there must be a better way to conserve energy, be more productive and arrive fresh.
Premium hotels are a better way and are worth the money. Where possible I sought out a Ritz-Carlton. The usual 24-hour room service was a true blessing since there was no need to search for, skip or rush a meal. The security system alone, as with all fine hotels, warrants the extra cost. And what great restaurants for discussions!
If there are company budget limitations against the top hotels, I either pay the extra cost myself or I constrict four days of work and meetings into two days.
