Morgan Returns as Softball Coach at Newbury Park
- Share via
Mike Morgan, who took over the Newbury Park softball team on an interim basis after Wally Thornhill’s resignation last week, was named to the post permanently by the Conejo Valley Unified School District on Saturday.
Morgan coached the Panthers three years ago, but resigned, giving way to Thornhill. A full-time police officer coaching the Panthers as a walk-on, Thornhill unexpectedly resigned last week. Some have speculated pressure from parents unhappy with the team’s play forced Thornhill out.
The Panthers (7-3), were 4-2 when Thornhill resigned.
