HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Hankins Lifts Simi Valley With 2 Homers

Ryan Hankins homered in each game of a nonleague doubleheader Saturday, leading host Simi Valley High to a sweep of Redlands, 4-3 and 8-4. Bill Scheffels was four for four in the first game and Kary Kozlowski hit a grand slam in the second game.
Oak Park 7, Malibu 3--Robinson Hughes, Vaughn Corley, Todd Christensen and Todd Schultz combined on a one-hitter in a nonleague game at Oak Park.
Royal 3, St. Monica 1--Ben Lemos drove in all three Highlander runs with a double and a single in a nonleague game at Royal.
Sylmar 6, West Jordan (Utah) 5--Mario Cervantes stole home in the sixth inning--his second steal of home in the game--to put Sylmar ahead for good in a Bishop Gorman tournament game in Las Vegas. Art Diaz had two triples for Sylmar, which defeated Boulder City (Nev.), 11-1, later in the day.
Crespi 4, La Serna 0--Sam Clemons and Jon Cuccias combined on a two-hitter in a St. Paul tournament pool play game at La Serna.
Burbank 12, Long Beach Poly 2--Burbank scored nine runs before an out was recorded in a first-round Babe Herman tournament game.
Alemany 2, La Mirada 1--Alemany’s Dan Arguello (3-2) scattered six hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out two in 6 2/3 innings in a pool play game at the St. Paul tournament. Fred Perez got the final out to record his sixth save.
Kennedy 6, Sahuaro (Arizona) 3--Adrian Guzman was three for three and scored the winning run for Kennedy in the Gales Easter tournament.
